In Policlínica Sagasta has a Cardiac Interdisciplinary Unit where clinical cardiologists, cardiac imaging specialists, intervention and rhythmologists work together.

Clinical Cardiology : External Consultations

The first step to good cardiac evaluation is the patient visit to the doctor's clinical cardiologist. Following the collection of all medical data, the cardiologist will refer the patient to the most appropriate unit .

Diagnostic Imaging non-invasive

This unit uses two high-level tools that are crucial to the detection of coronary artery disease :

  • Coronary CT coronary angiography or non invasive: Thanks to TAC Aquilion One, scanner generation, it is possible to know the status of the coronary arteries and predict whether the individual is at risk of a heart attack in the next 3 years.

  • Cardiac MRI: This test is indicated to assess the heart in angina pectoris or myocardial infarction. It is also used for the study of congenital diseases or abnormalities that can produce sudden death. Help to assess the performance of the heart under stress . This first level unit scans are also performed:

  • Angio DMD

  • Calcium Score

  • Cardiac Ultrasound

  • Ecodoppler heart

  • Vascular ultrasound

  • Arterial and venous vascular doppler

  • Holter electrocardiogram

Department of Hemodynamics

It is equipped with the latest technology to perform angiographic studies at central and peripheral nervous system , as well as all the necessary equipment that allows us to make diagnoses and treatments. Specifically in the field of cardiology cardiac catheterizations and angioplasties are performed.

Department of Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology

Comprehensive treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias is available, from the purely clinical aspects of this disease to the invasive , by performing electrophysiological studies, radiofrequency ablation, device implantation as insertable loop recorder , pacemakers or defibrillators. Also, is studied comprehensively the problem of syncope.
